The agreement envisages joint projects and research, mutual participation in conferences and forums, support for the “Baku Process” and “Peace for Culture” global campaigns, training and education programs, as well as the Global Peace Standards Program. The first discussion platform of the PeaceTalk project was organized during the event.
Opening the event, Director of the Institute of Diplomacy and Development, Vice-Rector of ADA University Fariz Ismayilzadeh noted the importance of peace and human security at the national and international levels and expressed confidence that the agreement would create an exemplary partnership mechanism. He also noted that ADA University and especially the newly established Institute have implemented serious projects for the development of peace and dialogue, recently organized a brain center meeting in Shusha dedicated to the post-conflict period, and contributed to the training of specialists in these fields through various training programs.
Adopting the new global reality, Prof. Mike Hardy, co-founder and chairman of the Global Peace for Human Security Council and chairman of the Center for Peace, Trust and Social Relations at Coventry University, said we must focus on issues that will positively affect peace, human security, intercultural dialogue and cultural relations in general. He noted that the Council plans to provide sensitive and first-class consulting services to governments, international organizations and global companies on such issues and to support the production of international policy research and publications with the involvement of world-class experts, scholars and professionals in these fields. Professor Hardy, from a social and psychological point of view, touched on the impact of human relations on societies and individual groups and peaceful coexistence, and said that while in Shusha, he was deeply disappointed by the damage and destruction to culture and heritage.
Vasif Eyvazzadeh, co-founder and president of the Global Peace for Human Security Council and chairman of the board of the Federation of Creative Industries of Azerbaijan, focused on the importance of the agreement to build and strengthen confidence as the preconditions for a positive peace and dialogue that will continue to improve people’s quality of life in the new and changing global geopolitical global environment. He also noted the importance of international projects such as the Baku Process and Peace4Culture.
Afterwards, a discussion panel was opened within the PeaceTalk platform and an exchange of views took place.
