Co-Founder and Chairman of the Global Peace for Human Security Council Prof. Mike Hardy attended at the event and supported the Peace4Culture idea launched in 2021.
Azerbaijani Culture Minister Anar Karimov and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Angel Moratinos have signed the action plan of the global call of Peace4Culture.
Representatives of Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, the US, Spain, Pakistan, as well as permanent representatives of member states to the UN took part in the ceremony, which took place at the UN headquarters in New York.
Speaking at the event, Karimov said that the action plan for the Peace4Culture project, launched last year at the initiative of Azerbaijan, is ready.
“Our contribution to sustainable development goes through peace,” he said, adding that the main goal of the project is to ensure a lasting peace for the preservation, revival and restoration of culture in post-conflict times. “Throughout history, Azerbaijan accepted the cultures of many peoples and encouraged their development. The project, which is being implemented today and serves the cause of peace, is an integral part of our traditional activities.”
